    About

    In 1965, the government constituted the Border Security Force to man the extensive national boundaries, security of the border regions as well as to control any activities, which could threaten our defence structure. As a part of the Border Security Force, one has to patrol mountainous terrains, deserts and long coastal stretches on all modes of transport such as camelback, horseback, on foot, speedboats or in helicopters.

    Qualifications

    After completing bachelor's degree one can apply to BSF through an all India based competitive examination for the post of Assistant CommandantBSF. Men and women in the age group of 19-23 years who have completed their graduation in any stream are eligible for this examination

    Salary

    The pay scales of different ranks in the Border Security Force are as follows:

    • Assistant Commandant Rs.8,000/- to Rs. 13,500/-

    • Deputy Commandant Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 15,200/-

    •Second-in-Command Rs. 12,000/- to Rs.16,500/-

    •Commandant Rs.14,300/- to Rs.18,300/-
